All the emails we display to users are verified against a complex server verification process, involving these checks -
-
Valid Format
-
Mail server accepted the email
-
MX-Records exist on this domain
-
Mail server accepts all emails (catch-all server)
-
Generic (role) email
-
Disposable email
-
Free email
Based on this verification process, we display a confidence score next to each email. A higher confidence score means the likelihood of that email bouncing is very low.

Here's a general guideline -
-
90% - 100%: Safe-to-send
-
71% - 89%: Risky-to-send
-
Below 70%: Do-not-send
Safe-to-send
These emails are safe to send. We charge only for emails with a confidence score of 90% and above. We are proud to guarantee that no more than 5% of the verified email addresses that we charge you for, will bounce. Click here to learn more about our accuracy guarantee.
Risky-to-send
One of the most common reasons for Risky-to-send score between 71% - 89% is when the mail server accepts all emails (catch-all server). Email inboxes using these servers are called accept-all or catch-all emails. We mark these emails as Risky-to-send because while the email server exists, it is impossible to validate if an email address is 100% valid or not without actually sending a real email message.
When running cold email campaigns, if the confidence score is between 71% to 89%, we highly recommend that you send these emails in small batches (around 50 at a time), and consider using a different domain (not your primary domain) for sending these emails. For example, if your official domain is abcd.io, you may create an email address at getabcd.co or abcd.net instead, and use that domain name for cold emailing.
